Executive Design Director

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Design Director to join a leading real estate development firm in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary design team across an international portfolio of projects within the hospitality and residential sectors.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the design team throughout all design phases and execute innovative design strategies for a range of real estate development projects.
- Appoint and oversee international design consultants ensuring the highest quality of design is produced at all stages
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architecture, engineering, and construction, to ensure seamless integration of design concepts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to the design team, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a key liaison between the design team and stake holders, presenting design proposals, progress updates, and recommendations for optimizing design processes and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design, and integrate them into the company's design processes to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on design innovation and excellence.

Salary:
AED 100,000 to 120,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Design Director or similar role within a top tier design consultancy or real estate development firm
- Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative and successful design projects within residential and hospitality secors
- A deep understanding of architectural design principles, urban planning, and sustainable development practices, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of inspiring and motivating design teams to achieve outstanding results and foster a culture of creativity and collaboration.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to articulate and advocate design to diverse stakeholders
- Expert knowledge of design software and tools, with a passion for exploring and integrating emerging technologies and trends in design to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate design challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive effective solutions to elevate design outcomes and project success.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, design, urban planning, or a related field, with additional certifications or professional affiliations in design and architecture being a distinct advantage.
